Water treatment in Great Neck
Whole home softening, filtration and reverse osmosis drinking water for Great Neck homes, installed for $3,299. One written price before any work starts.
The Great Neck peninsula has two water suppliers. The Water Authority of Great Neck North serves about 32,400 people in Great Neck, Great Neck Estates, Kensington, Kings Point, Saddle Rock and parts of Great Neck Plaza and Thomaston, and the Manhasset-Lakeville Water District serves the southern half of Great Neck.
The Water Authority of Great Neck North's 2025 report lists total hardness of 59.3 to 179 mg/L, about 3.5 to 10.5 grains per gallon, the highest top figure of any supplier in our area. Manhasset-Lakeville lists 10 to 94 mg/L. The authority adds chlorine and a polyphosphate that controls iron and discoloration from older cast iron mains.
What people notice changes from street to street here: a chlorine taste at the kitchen tap, scale where the water runs harder, or staining where there is iron. The assessment starts from what your utility publishes about the water at your address.
From there you get one recommendation for your home and one written price, before anything is ordered.
Every Great Neck job is handled locally, start to finish, by a Long Island company.
