Water treatment in Oyster Bay
Whole home softening, filtration and reverse osmosis drinking water for Oyster Bay homes, installed for $3,299. One written price before any work starts.
The Oyster Bay Water District serves about 8,500 people from five wells in the Glacial and Magothy aquifers. Its 2025 report lists total hardness of 44.0 to 73.3 mg/L, about 2.6 to 4.3 grains per gallon.
The district adds sodium hydroxide at every well to raise the pH and a small amount of chlorine for disinfection. A new advanced oxidation system for 1,4-dioxane is now running at the Shutter Lane plant, and a carbon system for PFAS is being designed for another plant.
What people notice changes from street to street here: a chlorine taste at the kitchen tap, scale where the water runs harder, or staining where there is iron. The assessment starts from what your utility publishes about the water at your address.
From there you get one recommendation for your home and one written price, before anything is ordered.
Every Oyster Bay job is handled locally, start to finish, by a Long Island company.
